CHS61209 : Hey Susan and Doreen You GOTTA run the one of the celebrating little leaguers(red helmet one). LOVE that photo. Maybe a front pager? With the High School, we HAVE to run the one of Kevin Warner and the kid throwing the javelin (Issac Delabruere) because they won state championships. I know we've ran Warner a billion times but the kid did win the 100 and 200 state title so we gotta get him in there for one last time. As for the high school, that's it...all their teams are done. It'll just be some little league here and there until the first week in September. I do have all the little league team photos so maybe one week we can run all those? Also, I have the spring CHS teams which could fill up one week...

chs52109 : -I NEVER get to see girls golf so you MUST run the one of the female golfer. -I NEVER get to Rugby matches (or they get canceled when I do!!) so go crazy and run as many of those as you can. Please make sure and run one of "Mora" and "Shelby". -I also see very little Lacrosse at Colchester so again...run as many as you can. -I stuck some baseball/softball there just in case but we've run a TON of them so no need to run them unless you need to fill the space.

Quantcast Brownlee, Spencer and Krol had one goal and an assist apiece in Harris’ victory in the annual showcase featuring the state’s top senior boys high school hockey players. Shane Smith of Montpelier, Trevor Broderick of Colchester and CVU’s Ben Soll also tallied while Burr and Burton’s Trevor Pollock and Chris Murray added assists for Harris. Stevie Mone of Essex scored twice to lead Austin while Mount Mansfield’s Brian Johnson scored once and picked up an assist. Hartford’s A.J. CVU Redhawk _________races towards the finish line during the 2009 Nordic Skiing State Championships at Stowe last week. The race took place during a blinding snowstorm at Trapp Family Lodge. The Redhawks battled the weather and the rest of the States best teams and came away with a 3rd place finish on the girls side and a 4th place finish for the boys.

There is the snowboarding states next week but I don't think Colchester has any kids in that). -The wrestler is the only Laker that advanced far in the state championships so obviously run one of those. -With the skiing, I just put the names because the cutlines are all the same. Basically the state championships are only halfway done. They race again on Thursday(In Rutland. I won't be going) and combine the times for the overall winner. ehs21909 : Hey Susan and Wendy Jane will be sending you some indoor state championship stuff. That and the gymnastics below should be the mainl priority. I sent a few basketball and hockey shots to run just to "hype" the upcoming playoffs but definitely feature the track and gymnastics because the next two weeks will be all hockey and basketball. The gymnastics team just won their 4th straight state title and Mary Krug just won her 4th straight individual state title. Both are historic events so make sure you give it it's proper due. I sent photos of the top 3 individual finishers (all from Essex- Mary Krug, Kimmy Dirmaier and Mary Parmenter). It would be nice to see one of each in there somewhere. -Paul

All the important information will be in those sentences. The REST of them I will just put the name a brief description of what they are doing. I sent a couple hockey and basketball photos but we should really focus on Skiing and Dance for the following reasons: Dance: This is it for their coverage. Last weekend was their biggest event of the year. Please run as many of these as you can. I made sure we're not running the same girls as last week but PLEASE run the ones of "Emily Bishop", "Alex Poirier", "Stephanie Fitzgerald" and "Katelyn DeGuise" in that order of importance...if possibel. And of course the jumping girl is a good one...do the best you can. Skiing- I get to VERY few downhill ski races so go crazy with those. There are boys and girls. Probably should run the one of "Kirsten Bombardier" because she was the fastest but otherwise choose what you want. Thanks!

THe football win is huge so go big with that if possible. colchester103008 : -Along with what I'm sending, Jane should have sent some XC running from the state championships. -VERY IMPORTANT...We MUST run something about the girls soccer teams playoff wins. Truly as big an accomplishment as any in Colchester sports in while. Because of location and conflicts with other games (One game was in Rutland and the Other in Newport) I was NOT able to attend. But I sent some generic "file" photos of the girls celebrating and their team photo. I also wrote a short story about it (below and on the web page). I'd go with a big headline but up to you. The other weird thing is the semifinal game will be done with by the time people get the paper (it's Wednesday afternoon). -Another VERY important thing is the Catamounts in the Championship game. Please, please, please run the little blurb I wrote about it along with a photo. The people involved in that league are constantly coming up to me and asking for coverage. I PROMISED them I would hype their trip to the championship (a first in Colchester). The "story" I wrote is on the web page as well. Two games later the team finds itself on the verge of making history and a semifinal date with defending state champion Essex. In what will go down as one of the greatest soccer upsets in Laker history, the team stunned 3rd seeded Rutland, a team that lost only one game this year, 4-2 in the opening round. The girls followed that up with a 1-0 win over 6th seeded North Country in the quarterfinals to earn their spot in this weeks semifinals. Against Rutland, the Lakers netted pair of goals in the last eight minutes of regulation to seal the 4-2 win. Caitlin Nedde provided the winning goal with 7:41 left and Kirsten Morley sealed the win with a penalty kick minutes later. Kirsten Bombardier and Lauren Bernard notched first half goals in the game while Bri DeOrsey made five saves. In the quarterfinals, it was Katherine Morley who was the hero with a first-half goal that would prove to be the game winner. Lauren Bernard’s corner kick set up the goal that sent the Lakers to the semifinals. Go Lakers!

The XC stuff is a little "strange" because the race had a Halloween costume theme so the kids aren't in uniform. I would make sure to run the one of the kid who won the costume contest. I wrote a cut line on the first one and just names for the rest. All the girls soccer is on page two...
